Innovative Technology Expert Li Mingxin

Comrade Li Mingxin is a grinder in the bevel gear production unit of the Harbin No. 1 Machine Tool Factory, also serving as the finished product foreman. Since joining the workforce in 1996, he has set strict standards for himself, actively seeking progress in his thoughts, and honorably joined the Communist Party of China in 1999. He is very diligent and hardworking in his work, good at research, and has continuously won titles such as technical expert, production model worker, and outstanding Communist Party member; he has won awards in various technical competitions at the municipal and company levels; he enjoys honors such as Longjiang Great Craftsman and Harbin City Young and Middle-aged Expert, and established the Harbin Li Mingxin Innovation Studio.

As an outstanding Communist Party member, in the face of past honors and achievements, Comrade Li Mingxin has not been arrogant or complacent, nor has he become complacent. Instead, he keeps pace with the times, continues to explore and study in his work position, truly playing the role of a vanguard model for party members. Wherever there are difficult tasks, there he is. When volunteers were recruited for the COVID-19 pandemic in Harbin, he was the first to sign up; when the group company organized voluntary blood donation, he actively responded; when the workshop encountered technical difficulties, he was the first to stand up... "The grinding of the insert rolling cutter unit's long wedge-shaped fixture," "tooth combing knife processing technology," and "high-precision arc milling cutter blade processing technology" are just some of the technical challenges he has overcome.

Time flies, and in 2020, during the company's most difficult period, the problem of "processing the key slot on the end face of the insert cutter" was presented to Li Mingxin. This processing requires very high precision, with the key width dimension tolerance controlled within +0.02/0; the symmetry center coincidence of the key slot should not exceed 0.01mm; the coincidence of the key slot center with any tooth shape (slot) center should not exceed 0.01mm. This process had always been outsourced, which not only incurred high costs but also had issues such as long processing cycles, adding extra expenses to the company and leading to unguaranteed delivery times, thus affecting product orders and the market.

Faced with the problem, Li Mingxin began to ponder: "With a shortage of funds, can we integrate the existing resources of the company to solve it?" He led his colleagues in repeated discussions and in-depth research, and finally found a method. He added a guiding magnetic disk to the bed, controlling both verticality and parallelism within three thousandths, and then vertically placed the workpiece on the guiding magnetic disk for processing. This method not only ensured the precision of the workpiece but also guaranteed the delivery time, and the technical processing difficulties that had troubled the company for many years were finally overcome by him, saving the company nearly ten thousand yuan in outsourcing processing costs each year.
